Global Pharma Top 50 News Archives and Updates published by DMS Data Systems, Ltd.. This annual information service price starts from US $ 995.
Abstract
The NewsTracker identifies all references to the Top 50 Pharma companies in press releases issued
by over 4300 companies worldwide. The NewsTracker presents this data weekly as two PDF documents, a
Summary Report and a Comprehensive Report.
The NewsTracker is able to find all press releases mentioning a specific company, rather than
just issued by that company. This feature, combined with the extensive company coverage, creates a
unique and valuable tool for competitive intelligence, marketing, and business development.
Background
In 2004, GlaxoSmithKline issued 119 press releases, about half of which related to development
and regulatory milestones for pharmaceutical products.
During the same period of time, there were another 151 press releases issued by 93 other
companies, all of which press releases mentioned GlaxoSmithKline in the first paragraph, and were,
therefore, directly relevant to GSK. These press releases announced supply agreements, law suits,
management appointments, deals and alliances, competitive generic products, etc.
The picture of GSK which results from looking at all mentions of GSK is much more complete and
valuable than the one formed just by looking at GSKs own announcements.
NewsTracker
Each week, the subscriber will receive two PDF format reports. The first, the Summary Report,
will contain the Headlines and First Paragraphs of all press releases issued that week, which
mention one of the Top 50 Pharma companies in the first paragraph. By focusing on the first
paragraphs, this report identifies the most relevant press releases.
The second report, the Comprehensive Report, contains the Full Text of all press releases issued
during the week, which mention one of the Top 50 Pharma companies somewhere in the full text. These
press releases may not be a specifically relevant as those in the Summary Report, but they provide a
complete collection of all references to the companies.
In both reports, the news is arranged alphabetically by issuing company. The reports can be
searched for specific words or phrases by using the built-in search function of Adobe Acrobat.
In addition to the weekly reports, in January or each year, subscribers will receive an Annual
News Summary containing an archive of all news mentioning the Top 50 Pharma companies during the
previous year. The Annual News Summary will contain a separate report for each company in the list.
