Introduction

Abstract

Farm Law, the comprehensive monthly briefing on legal issues designed for professional advisers to rural business and large farming companies.

The recent pace of change in laws affecting the environmental and food safety responsibilities of farmers and landowners is unlikely to diminish over the next decade. Political and budgetary discussions at EU level will alter the way in which farm support is handled, and subsidiarity will lead to implementation being increasingly dealt with at local level. Cross border differences within the UK can be expected to be more pronounced as the devolved authorities make different decisions.

Farm Law will provide commentary on all these legal and constitutional changes as they happen, making running assessments of the implications for rural business.

He co-authored the CLA' s Advisory Handbook on Farm Business Tenancies, and its revision, and these days is mainly occupied as Consultant & Adviser to the Agricultural Law Association which involves him in policy-making circles as well as providing support to rural professionals in their practice.
