TV-use polarizer market share by maker based on second-quarter 2009 show LG Chemical in No.1 ranking with 30% followed by Nitto Denko in No.2 ranking with 29% and Sumitomo Chemical in No.3 ranking with 25% market share. Combined market share of the three companies reach 80%. As LG Chemical initiates its polarizer supply to IPS Alpha and Samsung Electronics, its market share is anticipated to go higher.
Monitor-use polarizer market share by maker based on second-quarter 2009 show LG Chemical in No.1 ranking with 37% market share followed by Nitto Denko in No.2 ranking with 19% and ACE Digitech at No.3 ranking with 16% market share. Taiwans CMMT and Daxon are rapidly increasing their market share to record 11% and 7% respectively in second-quarter 2009.
NotePC-use polarizer market share by maker show Sumitomo in No.1 ranking with 37% market share followed by Nitto Denko in No.2 ranking with 34% market share. Displaybanks analyst, Irene Heo notes "combining all results discussed, LG Chemical was ranked No.1 position with 29% market share followed by 27% of Nitto Denko in No.2 ranking and 20% of Sumitomo Chemical in No.3 ranking in over 10" large-area TFT-LCD polarizer market based on second-quarter 2009". Heo emphasized "the market share different between LG Chemical and Nitto Denko is almost 10% and ACE Digitech recorded 7% market share to be ranked in No.4 position.
