Global Information, Inc. would like to present a new market research report, "IDC 2009 Consumer PC Monitor Buyer Survey: U.S. Results" by IDC.
This study publishes the results of a survey conducted online by IDC during November of 2009. IDCs 2009 Consumer PC Monitor Buyer Survey polled participants about their current PC monitor use and future plans. According to Tom Mainelli, senior research analyst with IDCs Clients and Display Group, "The consumer PC monitor market in the United States continues to be a difficult place, as margins shrink and more buyers transition from desktop to notebook PCs... To prosper, vendors must endeavor to satisfy consumers often conflicting purchase criteria, which include high-end features such as USB connectivity at the low-end prices to which theyve become accustomed." The online survey was conducted in seven countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Brazil, India, Germany, and Japan. The coverage of this report is limited to the United States portion of the survey, which included 214 respondents. This study examines the current and future trends in PC monitor purchasing, including notebook attach rates, most preferred interface, and screen size preferences.
