The service assurance market generated USD2.93 billion in revenue in 2013, up 7% from USD2.75 billion in 2012.

Tektronix was the largest supplier of software systems in the service assurance market in 2013, thanks to an increase in revenue from its core business of probe systems. IBM, Hewlett-Packard, JDS Uniphase (JDSU), CA and Ericsson completed the top six. Consistent revenue growth in this market during the last 3 years reflects its importance to operators for assuring voice and data services. Anil Rao (Senior Analyst) s a member of Analysys Mason's Telecoms Software research team and is the lead analyst for the Service Assurance programme, focusing on producing market share, forecast and research collateral for the programme. He holds a BEng in Computer Science from the University of Mysore and an MBA from Lancaster University Management School, UK.

Patrick Kelly (Research Director) leads Analysys Mason's Telecoms Software research stream, which focuses on identifying the rapidly growing segments in the telecoms software market and providing forecast and market share data on each of the 26 segments by region and service type.
