Pay-TV Operators Need to Implement Content Recommendation Solutions to Drive Loyalty and Revenue

Abstract

A poorly implemented content recommendation solution can actually do more harm than good, detracting from the user experience, rather than adding to it.

The amount of content available to most pay-TV subscribers has increased drastically within the last ten years, making it increasingly difficult for them to find the content that they want through traditional grid-style EPG interfaces. In this Viewpoint, we explain how implementing an effective content recommendation solution provides an opportunity for operators to improve the customer experience and, as a result, to reduce churn and increase revenue from on-demand services.
