Key Findings
The size of enterprise network device market is RMB 4.58 billion in the third
quarter of 2006, of which the size of switch market is RMB 2.42 billion,
accounting for 52.8%, and that of routers RMB 2.16 billion, accounting for
47.2%.
The market of high end switch and router develops steadily, while the price of
low end switch and router drops a little with higher market concentration.
North China, East China and South China are still the major shipment market.
With the enhancement of informationism degree in western and central regions
of China, these markets have big potential.
Telecom is still the major industry for switch and router. However, with the
development of information-based construction of key industries, medium and
small- sized enterprises and e-government, there' s notable increase of needs
for enterprise network device.
The market share of Huawei-Huawei3com is 36.5% in this quarter, ranking the
first in network device market, followed by Cisco and Nortel with market share
of 35.4% and 9.0% respectively. Huawei-Huawei3com also takes the lead in
switch market with market share of 36.0%, while Cisco takes the first place in
router market with market share of 36.1%.
