The worldwide market for LED lighting fixtures (excluding retrofit lamps) is about USD 14 billion in 2012, equal to around 18% of the worldwide consumption (and probably some 6% in terms of physical units).
Yearly growth has been about 65% in 2012, that is in line with previous optimistic expectations.
It is shown that growth of LED lighting sales has been around by 27% per year among 2008 and 2010, and much more (+66% per year) among 2010 and 2012.
2012 growth of LED lighting has been fuelled by different market segments country by country. All in all, the main jump has been made by outdoor lighting (+81% and more) especially thanks to China and USA. Industrial lighting LED based is estimated to growth over 55% during 2012. About Commercial (+52%) and Residential (+75%), these segments were comparatively more dynamic in Europe.
Again focusing only on fixtures, CSIL forecasts a further 37%-38%% yearly growth for the coming three years, achieving a LED lighting market equal to about USD 36 million for the year 2015.
In terms of incidence of LED on the overall lighting fixtures market, the percentage will be about 39% in 2015 (1% in the year 2005, 7% in 2010, 12% in 2011). This new forecast is a bit more optimistic in comparison with the previous one.

Today's LED lighting market is made by around 80% of lighting fixtures (focus of our study) and 20% LED retrofit lamps.
