Abstract
Displaybank offers structural and cost analysis of LCD monitor that is
equipped with LED BLU launched by LG Electronics recently through reverse
engineering. LG Electronics ‘E2350V-PN' Monitor is equipped with 1-bar
type LED backlight.
In case of ‘E2350V-PN' , the major analysis point was narrowed down to
LED Backlight Unit (BLU) technology, cost analysis, SCM (Supply Chain
Management), and the solution of slim product offering as the company' s
marketing points have been “LED backlight” and “17.5mm
thickness”.
The results of analysis show the product BOM at $146.7 which was 52% level of
retail price at $281.6 (applying March average currency exchange rate).
Looking at cost share by part, display part represent highest cost share with
77% followed by mechanical part with 10%, circuits at 8% and 5% on
miscellaneous. LED BLU especially was analyzed to compose 23% share of all BOM
that it was higher than traditional 17% cost share that CCFL BLU show.
