Ericsson GSM/W-CDMA 900MHz RF Module, 60W, KRC 118 62/1 RIC, Model RUS01 B8

Abstract

This report covers the design analysis of an Ericsson GSM/W-CDMA 900MHz RUS01 B8 60W RF transceiver/power amplifier/duplexer filter unit. This unit is part of the RBS6101/6102/6201/6202 base station platform for Ericsson supporting GSM/W-CDMA/LTE. The unit was manufactured in Q1 2011.

Key Findings:

  • The module combines the RU22 and FU21 units of the prior generation RBS3000 BTS architecture and is similar to the DRU of the RBS2000 BTS architecture.
  • Ericsson has switched to a new amplifier design and mounting system for the high power RF transistors.
  • The TRx design is similar to the Ericsson RU22 design.
