"Location Based Mobile Services in Japan" published by Eurotechnology Japan, K.K. in January, 2009. This report consists of 102 pages and the price starts from US $ 1900.
Abstract
Summary
Globally first location based service and the first GPS equipped mobile phone
were both introduced in Japan in 2001, and since 2007 all 3G phones sold in
Japan must be equipped with GPS and emergency location information service.
Within a few years GPS penetration is expected to reach 90% of all Japanese
mobile phones in use.
Based on this early and deep penetration of GPS, location based services for
mobile phones are very advanced in Japan and represent a market of
considerable size. In fact many services which are theoretically discussed in
US and in Europe, have already been implemented quite some time ago for
commercial service in Japan.
The present reports give a broad overview of location based services in Japan
both for consumer markets as well as for commercial business-to-business
markets.
The report is directed to mobile operators, investment bankers, telecom
equipment manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, mobile services
providers, and other professionals who need to be up-to-date on the state of
the art of location based mobile services and be aware of future trends.
Eurotechnology-Japan market research reports are continuously purchased by
many mobile operators, mobile equipment manufacturers, mobile service
providers, start-ups, investment banks and venture capital firms, and about
ten foreign embassies in Tokyo, as well as by many government agencies all
over the world. Eurotechnology-Japan market reports are frequently quoted in
the Press.
