This IDC Financial Insights report tracks the number of new-named core banking deals for 2011 in North America and provides insight into this core banking environment.
"The number of new-named core banking deals has increased from 2010 to 2011 but is still significantly lower than the number of deals in 2008 and prior levels," says Karen Massey, senior analyst, Consumer Banking. "U.S. banks in particular are less focused on core replacement, rather expecting their core vendor to provide upgrades along a modernization path and to stay current on regulations. However, U.S. banks are warned not to ignore the core modernization of their international peers with sights set to U.S. expansion."
