Introduction

Abstract

The Kenyan power industry is at its developmental stage but, with high potential to grow robustly in the short to medium term. The growth of the industry will be a direct response to rising demand for power. The industrial growth, especially in the manufacturing and construction sectors has significantly increased the demand for power in Kenya. In response, the government has embarked on an energy recovery program to rehabilitate the power industry. The program includes upgrading and expanding existing power plants as well as inviting private companies to invest in the power industry.
