Introduction

Abstract

The report is devoted to investigation of Russian cement market, its development under crisis conditions and forecast till 2012. The report consists of 5 Sections; contains 191 pages, including 20 Figures, 80 Tables and Appendix. The work is a desk research. As informational sources, we used data of Rosstat (Federal Statistic Service of Russia), Federal Customs Service of Russia, official statistics of railage, sectoral and regional mass-media, annual and quarterly reports of companies, web-sites of companies producing cement as well as databases by “GS-Expert”.

The first Section is devoted to cement production in Russia. The Section offers statistics of the production in the country in 2002-1st half of 2009, data on regional and commodity pattern of the production, as well as on volumes of cement production by individual enterprises. Besides, the Section analysis current standing of leading players on Russian cement market, including data on pattern of ownership, available productive capacities, range of the products, plans of the business development, directions and volumes of cement shipment.

The second Section of the report analyses data of Federal Customs Service of Russia on foreign trade operations in cement in 2002-1st half of 2009. It presents data on regional pattern of export-import supplies, the main Russian exporters and importers of cement, volumes and directions of sales.

The third Section is devoted to consumption of cement in Russia; it presents supply- demand balance of the product for the latest 7 and a half years, estimates dynamics of changing “apparent” consumption of cement in the country. Besides, the Section offers sectoral, commodity and regional pattern of cement consumption in Russia, estimate effect of seasonality factor.

The fourth Section of the report is devoted to analysis of price conjuncture of Russian cement market. The Section considers dynamic of prices on cement at domestic market for the latest years, presents review of export-import prices on the product, as well as forecast of price conjuncture of the market up to 2012.

The fifth, final Section of the report gives forecast of cement production in Russia, forecast of end-uses development, as well as forecast of cement consumption in Russia under conditions of financial crisis.

The Appendix offers contact information on cement producers in Russia.
