Abstract
The report is devoted to investigation of quartz glass sands market in Russia,
Ukraine and Belarus and its development till 2012. This work is based on the
combination of desk studies (which results were obtained by expert analysis of
official statistics, publications in mass media, press-releases of companies
and their annual and quarterly reports) and field studies (telephone
interviews with representatives of glass sands producers). The report consists
of 6 Sections; contains 74 pages, including 20 Figures, 34 Tables and Appendix.
The first Section of the report presents brief characteristics of resources
base of quartz glass sands in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus including data on
quantity, reserves and regional structure of deposits location.
The second Section of the report is devoted to review of existing technologies
of quartz sands concentration and requirements, imposed on quality of the
commodity products.
The third Section is devoted to analysis of mining and production of glass
sands, including data on volumes of mining in Russia in 2002-2009 by leading
companies, description of their current conditions, commodity structure of
production, analysis of the main destinations and volumes of supplies in
2007-9 months of 2009 as well as description of new projects on the market.
Besides data on current conditions of mining enterprises in Ukraine and
Belarus are given.
The fourth Section of the report analyses data on foreign trade operations in
glass sands. Statistic data on foreign trade in volume and value terms are
submitted as well as regional structure of export and import of glass sands,
data on volumes and destinations of supplies by the main exporters and
importers.
The fifth Section of the report is devoted to analysis of domestic consumption
of glass sands in Russia. The Section presents supply-demand balance in
2002-2009, estimates regional and sectoral pattern of sands consumption and
submits data on volumes of supplies to the largest consuming companies. In
addition, the Section describes the current conditions and development
prospects of the main consuming industries.
The final, sixth Section of the report submits forecast of glass sands market
development till 2012.
