Abstract
This IDC study provides forecasts for and analysis of the
Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ, mobile multimedia services market in
Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the People' s Republic of China
(PRC), South Korea, and Taiwan.
"Even though adoption trends for the
different flavors of mobile multimedia tend to vary from country
to country within the APEJ region, the common trend is
the popularity of mobile music, specifically ringtones. In addition, the
demands for higher bandwidth on the network due to multimedia
service means mobile operators will have to invest heavily on
upgrading their network in order to satisfy the users demands,"
say Alex Chau, senior research manager for IDC Asia/Pacific Mobile
and Wireless Technologies/Services program.
