Introduction

Abstract

This IDC study provides the latest software license and maintenance revenue shares of 238 human capital management applications vendors between 2006 and 2008 and the overall market trends that form the basis of the 2009–2013 forecast. The human capital management (HCM) applications market has not been immune to the economic downturn.

"What' s going to work for many HCM applications vendors in the next few years is demographic changes will force companies to invest more in tools that allow their employees to boost the quality of their output by better aligning overall performance with the goals of the enterprise as well as the need to prepare the next-generation workers and managers with a slew of collaboration, elearning, and other time-saving applications potentially redefining the meaning of work,' ' said Albert Pang, research director of Enterprise Applications at IDC.
