Introduction

Abstract

The Norwegian enterprise mobility market is by no means unaffected by the current crisis, with a number of trends working against the industry.

"We expect higher unemployment in Norway and a general enhanced focus on bringing down all sorts of costs, including communications costs," said Brian Troelsen, research manager, IDC Nordic. "That will negatively impact the number of employees being mobilized and will lead to less revenue from international roaming due to travel constraints. We also expect 2009 and the beginning of 2010 to be a very tough time for mobile hardware vendors due to a lack of upgrades to save capex costs."

IDC recommends that vendors in the enterprise mobility sector continue to identify and leverage opportunities that help their customers save costs, which will lead to increased loyalty once the market picks up.
