Introduction

Abstract

This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J9340102) analyzes user needs for the Japan customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management (SCM), and business analytics (BA) solutions markets which are also known collectively as the Japan enterprise applications and solutions market.

"The value of short-term solutions implementation by means of software as a service (SaaS)/application service provisioning (ASP) is rising. In this study, it is obvious that user enterprise spending will be limited. In order to make up for lower rates of project commissions, it will be necessary for solutions providers to offer integrated consulting and services on a low-cost basis, and increase the frequency of proposed solutions," says Tomoko Akagi, software group manager, IDC Japan.
