Introduction

Abstract

This IDC study analyzes the difficult post-crisis position that China' s macroeconomy and its ICT market was placed in 2009. It also reviewed the predictions made for 2009. The study presents the China ICT 2010 top 10 predictions based on the latest economic and ICT evolution in China. The predictions involve overall and regional IT markets, and other markets such as software and outsourcing, IT infrastructure framework, PC and consumer digital, verticals and small and medium-sized business (SMB), telecommunications, and the Internet.

"The essence of the 2010 China ICT market is "recovery and transformation." The ICT market will grow in accordance with the recovery of the economy. However, this recovery is not a simple market replica, as challenges and opportunities exist side by side. Smart cities and industries, emergent markets in China, cloud computing, microblogging, mobile intelligent terminals, and end-user behavior changes all demand proactive actions of ICT suppliers on products, technologies, solutions, services, and business models, as a way of facing challenges head on. Only through this way, business opportunities in post-crisis times can be fully utilized," says Wu LianFeng, research director, Vertical Industry Research and Consulting, IDC China.
