Introduction

Abstract

This IDC study provides an analysis of the U.S. competitive landscape in BPO services provisioning by leading systems integrators. This study evaluates the revenue of the leading services vendors by five vertical sectors for BPO services. The vertical sectors are financial services, manufacturing and resources, distribution and services, infrastructure services, and the public sector.

"Leading BPO services providers performed better than the market across all vertical sectors in 2008," stated Ruthbea Clarke, program manager, Services Verticals Views program. "As spending got tighter, customers consolidated providers and increasingly turned to the larger, more financially strong services vendors for help. The Indian offshore providers continue to grow faster than the traditional systems integrators and are growing competitors in financial services and infrastructure services in particular. ADP is the market leader across all sectors except infrastructure, where Convergys leads, with Hewitt, IBM, and Accenture vying for share in the top 5."
