Japan Network Equipment 2010-2014 Forecast and 2009 Analysis published by IDC in August, 2010. This report consists of Pages: 56 and the price starts from US $ 5000.

Introduction

Abstract

This IDC study (a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J10030102) explores the current and future trends in the Japan network equipment market comprising of routers, Ethernet switches, and enterprise WLAN equipment. The Japan network equipment market in 2009 marked a sharp drop in revenue due to decreased spending by carriers on next-generation services and the impact from companies tightening their belts amid the recession. Although rapid growth is hard to expect, the market will remain stable as an infrastructure that is indispensable to companies and carriers.

"Vendors in the market should hasten to line up products that can exploit the surge in replacement demand when the market improves. When the next replacement period comes around, vendors should be prepared for changes in how user companies choose network equipment. New standards for product selection may include power-efficiency, high-speed WAN interface, and wireless broadband support. IDC believes vendors should incorporate these features in their lineups," says Kenichi Kusano, market analyst, Communications, IDC Japan communications.
