This IDC study gives an overview of the 2012 market shares of the main players in EMEA IP PBX and IP phone markets, both by units or lines shipped and by end-user revenue. It also summarizes the changes in market shares since 2009. It discusses in detail the go-to-market strategies and product portfolios of the main players, with a particular emphasis on any changes introduced in 2012 or thereafter. It shows the main differentiation points between vendors at present, as well as future points of concern for both vendors and their customers.
"The IP PBX and IP phone markets in EMEA endured a tough year in 2012. As a consequence of continuing economic issues in many countries, total EMEA revenue for enterprise IP telephony equipment dropped after two years of recovery. This vendor market share review demonstrates that some players were able to resist this challenge better than others; in particular, those that could rely on a steady migration of a relatively strong TDM customer bases toward IP telephony were able to defend or even grow their market share. Yet in IDC's opinion, the main challenge for the EMEA market players will only come later, with market recovery." --- Senior Research Analyst Michael Vorisek, IDC CEMA
