The Western European market for datacenter life-cycle services is highly competitive not the least because of its low growth. The top 10 vendors (Accenture, Atos, BT, Capgemini, CSC, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Logica, and T-Systems) have a combined market share of 37%.
"Interestingly, the top 10 datacenter services vendors are also the top 10 IT services vendors," said Mette Ahorlu, research director, IDC European Services. "This shows us how important the datacenter is in the IT landscape, and the datacenter will be subject to massive changes over the next few years as cloud makes its impact. We are going to see the top 10 compete aggressively, but also new players entering this space, though we do not see the composition of the top 10 changing in the near future."
