This IDC study focuses on security solutions across Western European SMBs, drawing on the results of IDC's European Vertical Market Survey carried out between April and the end of July 2011 in the top 5 Western European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K.), covering 1,021 SMBs with 20-499 employees.
"Investments in security across Western European SMBs are on the increase, and in particular the high end of the midmarket is expected to be more dynamic with almost one out of three companies planning to invest in IT security solutions beyond maintenance of existing ones. Behind this resurgence in the importance of IT security, we find the explosion of data across an increasing array of platforms and devices to be a very important driver," said Angela Vacca, research manager, IDC European Industry Solutions.
