Introduction

Abstract

This report presents forecast and recent quarter review of Taiwanese basic/feature phone shipment volume, shipment value, ASP, volume and share by maker and by price point, and manufacturer volume ranking. The report also includes product mix analyses, including phone type, system technology, display color count mix, embedded camera and camera array format, and handset shape. Assembly levels, production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios are also examined. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with basic/feature phone makers. The report finds that the Taiwanese feature phone shipment volume saw a double-digit sequential growth in the second quarter of 2009. Although shipment volume grew, ASP dropped in the second quarter due to increase in the shipment of models with PVR. In the third quarter of 2009, it is forecasted that Taiwanese feature phone shipment volume and value will continue to see sequential growth.
