About Printed Batteries

A printed battery is a thin and flexible battery that consists of zinc (anode) and manganese dioxide (cathode) and is printed on recyclable plastic. The output voltage from a printed battery is 1.5V with a peak drain current of 1mA. Printed batteries are used mainly for short lifespan and low power source applications. As these batteries are produced using eco-friendly materials, they can be easily disposed of with household waste. The most important feature of a printed batteries is that they are inexpensive. Printed batteries are used in a variety of devices such as passive RFID tags, temperature sensors, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, interactive packaging, and smart cards.
