This in-depth procedure volumes database quantifies current and forecast
(2007-2014) procedure volumes across a spectrum of medical segments in some of
the most promising and emerging markets.
Extensive primary and secondary research methods were used to develop this
database. This product is maintained and refined by LSI analysts on a
real-time basis and updates will be released on an annual basis. Customers
have direct access to the LSI analyst team to discuss the data. Customers are
able to request coverage of new procedures for future updates allowing them to
further customize this resource to their unique needs.

Preliminary procedure volumes for 2007-2009 were generated using data from
national and international societies and organizations, published clinical
studies, and proprietary databases.
Data Validation for Procedure Volumes, 2007-2009
Historical estimates for the procedure volumes covered in this database were
validated by incorporating feedback from clinicians at important national
hospitals and facilities as well as selected manufacturers.
Forecasted Procedures for 2010-2014
Procedure forecasts were generated by examining historical technology adoption
rates in developed countries as well as current penetration levels in other
emerging markets. These metrics were used to generate benchmarks with which
to compare adoption levels for established and advanced medical procedures in
each country.

from clinicians at important national hospitals and facilities as well as
selected manufacturers. Dozens of surgeons and practitioners were contacted
across a range specialties covered in this report, including neurosurgeons and
spine specialists, orthopedic surgeons, surgical oncologists, urologists, and
others. This information was used to establish leading procedures,
anticipated caseloads, and emerging trends.
