Introduction

Abstract

This report analyzes manufacturing companies' most important business objectives, as well as the key process improvement goals they have and understand how these are reflected in their product life-cycle strategy. Based on a global Web survey, with 105 total valid responses from European manufacturing companies, it segments European manufacturing by industry type, country, and company size.

"Manufacturers should review their PLM goals, and ensure that they are aligned with company goals and process improvements," said Pierfrancesco Manenti, EMEA research director, Manufacturing Insights. "Otherwise top management will regard PLM as irrelevant, given the other major challenges their company faces in the current economic climate."
