Introduction

Abstract

This paper is the second of three papers Prodata will publish on international roaming during the 2005 MWP program. The report provides a detailed benchmarking analysis of roaming structures and pricing benchmarks across 14 operators in 7 major Western European countries. The focus is on voice, SMS, MMS and GPRS based roaming models for the prepay segment.

Where appropriate, we have also included comparisons with the contract segment in order to highlight key service differentiators between the two segments. This report will be invaluable to pricing managers. Extensive research and analysis has been undertaken to allow comparison of the wide diversity of roaming structures and pricing levels found.

The third report in the series will discuss and highlight emerging strategies and best practices in the design and promotion of roaming tariffs.
