Opto/LED Fab Watch - Overview of the Global LED/Optoelectronic Fabs - Details of Optoelectronics and LED fabs published by SEMI in November, 2011. This report price starts from US $ 595.

Introduction

Abstract

This database provides an overview of the global Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Optoelectronics fabs for the prior quarter. These facilities manufacture devices that source, control, or detect light. The data includes information by facilities including fab location, theoretical capacity, wafer size, and more. The listing also provides an overview of equipment spending by region.

Currently, the report contains information of 168 Opto/LED fabs worldwide with 86 LED fabs and 82 opto-related fabs. The database shows Japan as having the largest number of Opto/LED fabs with a total of 42 facitlities in this region. The regions with the most LED fabs are Taiwan (40%), Japan (23%) and China (22%).

The Opto/LED Fab Watch database is an essential business tool for anyone interested in understanding the key players involved in this growing and expanding market segment.

Methodology

The Opto/LED Fab Watch database is compiled from publicly available information, including capital spending plans and announced fab plans. SEMI verifies this information by making numerous inquiries and periodic calls as well as visits to these facilities.

LED Industry Outlook Shows Healthy Positive Growth for 2010

November 9th, 2009

Global Information, Inc. would like to present a new market research report, "Opto/LED Fab Watch - Overview of the Global LED/Optoelectronic Fabs - Details of Optoelectronics and LED fabs" by SEMI.

According to Clark Tseng, senior manager market analyst at SEMI, "LED expansion and new facility projects have literally mushroomed all over the world. Even in the downturn of 2009, the SEMI Opto/LED fab database recorded seven new LED fabs coming online." Upcoming projects related to Optoelectronics and LED fabs will primarily emerge in China and Taiwan. Additionally, new lines will also be exhibited in India, Russia, and Japan. According to SEMI analysts, at least five new Optoelectronics/LED fabs are expected in 2010 and an additional six new fabs are projected for 2011. Currently, Japan has the largest number of Opto/LED fabs with a total of 42 facilities. However, Taiwan has the most percentage of LED fabs at 40%. This database contains an overview of the global Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Optoelectronics fabs for the previous quarter. Semis report provides information for 168 Optoelectronic/LED fabs across the globe. The report includes information on fab locations, theoretical capacity, wafer size, and an overview of equipment spending by region.
