World Mobile Infrastructure 2006 published by Visant Strategies, Inc. in February, 2006. This report consists of 164 Pages and the price starts from US $ 2795.

Introduction

Abstract

In 2006 as mobile operators in both saturated markets and developing ones continue to build towards a world where mobile voice dominates and wireless data use is building, infrastructure vendors will be the benefactors.

Hundreds of thousands of base stations will be deployed annually for the foreseeable future as developed markets begin to bear the fruit of third generation infrastructure investments and developing markets complete the first swath of redundant and competitive national services through the use of 2G and 2.5G air interfaces. Deployment from 2006 through 2010 will include the introduction of more efficient base stations due to software improvements as well as ancillary technologies such as smart antennas and the movement to I/P-based carriage within parts of the network.

The report details annual subscriber and base station growth through 2010 by air-interface and region and also calculates high-speed data users through the decade and whether these users will likely be GSM/GPRS subscribers, CDMA2000 EV-DO high-speed users or those utilizing WCDMA/HSDPA or EDGE.

The six regions of the world are broken down including a discussion of how the air-interfaces will likely be utilized within each particular region and the key nations and operators of that particular market influencing these decisions. Also explained is which 3G air-interfaces are being deployed and how CDMA2000, GSM/GPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA will fare within in each region and within key nations.
