decisions in 2008, followed closely by health, wellbeing, convenience and
indulgence.
- Innovation witnessed 135 combined new products, brand extensions and
redesigns recorded in 2008, up 8% on 2007.
- Whilst natural refreshment continued to be at the core of the industry' s
momentum throughout 2008, there was a surprising resurgence in carbonates as
consumers demanded tasty treats, with volumes rising 1.7% in 2008.
- Promotional activity by brand owners and retailer own label caused chilled
not from concentrate juice consumption to blossom.
