Published: April 26, 2021 Content info: 7 Slides
Description

"Mobile wallets are more popular in South Korea than in Australia and New Zealand; 11% of South Korean panellists use them for e-commerce."

This report focuses on aspects of Analysys Mason's Connected Consumer Survey that relate to the behaviour, preferences and plans of smartphone users in developed Asia-Pacific (DVAP). In particular, it focuses on respondents' usage of digital services such as e-commerce and payments.

This report:

  • discusses the main e-commerce trends in developed Asia-Pacific, including the type of devices that consumers use to purchase goods online and the barriers to further m-commerce penetration
  • discusses the payment mechanisms favoured by consumers for e-commerce and physical commerce and provides information on how often consumers use m-wallets for physical commerce
  • identifies the most popular m-wallet solutions in the region
  • provides insights into the organisations that consumers in the region are most willing to trust.

SURVEY DATA COVERAGE:

The research was conducted between August and September 2020. The survey groups were chosen to be representative of the mobile-internet-using population in the region. We set quotas on age, gender and geographical spread to that effect. There was a minimum of 1000 respondents per country, and 3000 respondents in the region.

GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • South Korea
