Datacenter markets in South East Asia have undergone a period of adjustment with limited build out and reduced M&A activity over the past two years. Most are still absorbing more than an estimated USD1.4 billion in investments over the past two years - with SUPERNAP and Global Switch among the highest. Research prepared by BroadGroup suggests relatively modest m2 capacity growth of close to 6% by the end of 2019 across the regional markets. This is in line with BroadGroup forecasts of colocation revenues increasing from USD8.5b to USD9.5b across the Asia region (11 countries) for the 2018-2019 period.
This new report assesses the market landscape for datacenters in South East Asia across Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam. Reviewing key location decision issues such as energy, fiber connectivity and governance, the report also comments on the emergence of hyperscale facilities in the region.
It provides forecasts of both capacity and available power through to the end of 2019, but usefully provides historic capacity figures from 2013.
