Malaysia Telecommunications Q1 2019
Published: November 6, 2018 Content info: 49 Pages

Key View:

The implementation of the government's Mandatory Standard Access Pricing (MSAP) will broadly improve broadband affordability, providing potential upside for our forecasts. We believe the strongest potential will come in fibre, and the government's soon to be unveiled communications policy will certainly double-down on fibrerisation. 4G uptake continues to be encouraging although price-led competition from alternative 4G licensees and U Mobile will drive down mobile revenues in the short-run. Wireline voice will continue to see declines, with a majority of connections to be enterprise-based as mobile substitution takes place.
