LPWAN technology offers long range connectivity that enables devices to move over large geospatial areas. LPWAN technology uses modulation techniques to achieve a link budget of 150± 10 dB that enables long range connectivity such as few kilometers in urban areas and up to 10 kilometers range in rural areas. This long-range connectivity is due to use of sub-1GHz band. Use of Sub-GHz band in most LPWAN offers reliable and robust communication at a low power requirement. Sub-GHz band as compared to 2.4 GHz mostly used in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and other home appliances, offer lower frequency signals that enables less attenuation and multipath fading caused by obstacles and dense surface such as concrete walls. Also, Sub-GHz is less congested as compared to 2.4 GHz used in wireless technology this low congestion of Sub-1GHz results in high reliability as compared to other wireless technology and enables long range connectivity in devices. Increasing demand for long range connectivity between devices are expected to fuel the demand of LPWAN, increasing adoption of IoT and m2m application and low cost of technology are key driving factors of market growth. Apart from this, emerging smart cities and smart buildings coupled with deployment of intelligent devices is expected to create significant growth opportunity in the market over the forecast period. However, lack of a governance policies impedes the growth of the market over the forecast period of 2019-2026.
