This IDC study provides the forecast for the mobile phone semiconductors market for 2022-2026."The mobile phone semiconductor market has grown because of a confluence of long-term, short-term, and temporary reasons," said Phil Solis, research director, Connectivity and Smartphone Semiconductors at IDC. "Increasing processor capabilities including computational photography, a rapid shift to 5G and support for more spectrum bands, and tightness in the market for many smartphone semiconductors have all contributed to record revenue. However, the continued shift of 5G rapidly down into midtier and low-tier phones, tapering shipment and ASP growth, and Apple's eventual integration of Apple's own baseband processor into its SoC will all contribute to a relatively flat market from 2022 on, including a peak in 2023."
