This IDC study provides IDC's market forecast for business intelligence (BI) tools in Western Europe, forecasting by segment between advanced analytics (AA) and end-user query, reporting, and analysis (QRA), and by country for 16 Western European countries.
"Market growth is driven by wider awareness of business analytics as a whole, due to the maturity of the market and also strong push from vendor marketing campaigns. Many organizations now have experience of business analytics projects and thus understand that business analytics and BI tools are not technological silver bullets; rather they are highly user-dependent projects that involve significant cultural transformation in order to succeed," said Alys Woodward, program manager, European Business Analytics and Social Platforms, IDC. "Mobile, social, and big data are three important trends in the market. The first two are already impacting market growth, while big data will start to drive growth around 2012-2013."
