Flow sensor is a device which is used to measure the flow rate and other variables of fluid passing through. A flow sensor usually consists of an indicator, top, scale and tube. The sensitivity of flow sensor is determined by fluid characteristics like pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity. Like most sensors, key performance characteristics are measured by repeatability, accuracy, linearity, and range-ability of the sensor. After a minor slowdown in 2010 in the aftermath of the global recession, the global flow sensor market has recovered impressively, resuming its double digit growth rates in 2011 and 2012 as manufactures fulfilled the pent up demand in the mining, oil and gas, and power sector.
