Description

Synthetic lubricant, also known as synthetic oil, can be defined as a lubricant consisting of chemical compounds that are artificially made. Synthetic lubricants are manufactured using chemically modified petroleum components rather than whole crude oil, but can also be synthesized from other raw materials. Synthetic lubricants are generally used as a substitute for petroleum-refined oils when operating in extreme temperature in order to prevent wear and tear of the machinery and ensure smooth operation. Globally, increasing demand from the automotive industry is expected to remain a key growth driver for the synthetic lubricants market during the period of study.

Geographically, Europe dominates the synthetic lubricants market driven by higher demand synthetic lubricants for a wide range of applications into its industrial base due to climatic conditions in the region. Europe was followed by North America and Asia-Pacific as second and third largest markets for the synthetic lubricants market. Asia Pacific is projected to have the fastest growth, owing to rapidly increasing applications in the large and expanding industrial base in the region, especially in developing nations such as China and India in this region.
