As sources of information, data from the Federal Service for State Statistics of the Russian Federation (Rosstat), Russian Railways (statistics of rail transportation), the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the State Customs Service of Ukraine (data on foreign trade operations), the UN Database, the InfoMine Database . Also, the data of the CIS Statistical Committees, the sectoral and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, Internet sites of iodine manufacturing enterprises, and telephone interviews were also attracted.

The first chapter of the report presents a brief overview of the world iodine market in 2005-2016. The section contains data on iodine reserves in the world, the dynamics of iodine production, the main producers of products, export-import of products, prices and world consumption of iodine.
The second chapter provides information on iodine reserves in the CIS countries (Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus).

The fourth chapter is devoted to the analysis of the production of iodine in the CIS in 1992-2017. In this chapter, the requirements of the existing normative and technical documentation for the quality of iodine of various grades are given, the data on the volumes of production are given, the dynamics of the output of these products are traced, the main producers of iodine and their current status are described.
The fifth chapter is devoted to projects on the development of iodine production in the CIS.
In the sixth chapter, data on foreign trade operations with iodine in Russia and the CIS are analyzed. The data on the volumes of export and import of the studied products are given, the regional structure of supplies is estimated, the data on the volumes of iodine supplied by exporters and importers are given.
The seventh chapter deals with foreign trade operations with iodine-containing products in Russia (2001-2017), in Ukraine (2000-2017) - a detailed analysis of the volumes and directions of export-import supplies of this product; in Turkmenistan (2001-2016), in Azerbaijan (2007-2016), as well as in Kazakhstan and Belarus (2004-2016) - a brief analysis.
The eighth chapter provides information on the level of prices for iodine in the domestic Russian market, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in 2005-2017.
The ninth chapter is devoted to the analysis of domestic consumption of iodine in Russia in 2002-2017. In this section, the production-consumption balance of the products is presented, the sectoral consumption structure is assessed, the main consumers and directions of iodine use are described. The final, tenth chapter gives the forecast of production and consumption of iodine in the CIS countries until 2025.
In the annexes addresses and contact information of the main producers and consumers of iodine are given.
