For instance, in November 2022, the full lineups and the beginning of volume production of AMR magnetic sensors were announced at Electronica and Electronica South China by MultiDimension Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT), a major producer of magnetic sensors with a focus on AMR (anisotropic magnetoresistance) and TMR (tunneling magnetoresistance) technologies. AMR angle, magnetic scale, linear, and switch sensors are all included in MDT's AMR sensor range. Non-optical sensors are used in various applications due to their small size and easy accessibility. For instance, the first satellite for Steve Wozniak and Alex Fielding's start-up, Privateer, called "Pono 1," was launched into orbit on February 11, 2022. The company's goal is to become the Google Maps of space. There are 42 sensors on board the spacecraft, including 12 optical cameras and 30 non-optical ones. According to KVH Industries, Inc., the P-1775 inertial measurement unit (IMU) with KVH's revolutionary PIC InsideTM photonic integrated chip (PIC) technology was also released. The technological advancements and increasing adoption of non-optical sensors are anticipated to accelerate the market growth during the forecast period.
