China green tea market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of around 6% during the forecast period. China is the largest producer and consumer of tea all across the globe. Due to this, the region has the largest market share during the forecast period. China is the largest tea producer globally. As per the International Tea Committee, around 2.6 million tons of tea was produced in the country in 2018 as compared to 2.4 million tons in 2017. China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, around 115 million people are employed in the tea industry in the country out of which around 80 million are tea farmers.

In 2018, the planting area of tea in the country was 2.9 million hectares, which accounts for 60% of the global planting area.
