Indonesian HNWIs held 28% (US$66.5 billion) of their wealth outside their home country in 2014.
Foreign asset holdings are expected to increase to US$101.1 billion by 2019, accounting for 30% of the country's total HNWI assets.
The Asia-Pacific accounted for 49.8% of Indonesian HNWIs' foreign assets in 2014. This was followed by North America with 21%, Europe with 13.2%, Latin America with 8.1%, Africa with 4.3% and the Middle East with 3.6%.
Indonesian HNWI allocations to the Asia-Pacific increased steadily during the review period compared with other regions, rising from 44.6% in 2010 to 49.8% in 2014.
WealthInsight expects HNWIs to slightly increase their level of investment in the Asia-Pacific region over the forecast period, to reach 52.7% of foreign HNWI assets by 2019.
