On 17 Oct., Yicheng New Energy announced that it plans to acquire Henan Bocan for USD16.06 million (RMB114.00 million) and Sichuan Kaitan for USD30.99 million (RMB220.00 million); both companies have production capabilities for graphite anode.

On 13 Oct., Shinghwa Advanced Material announced that it plans to build 100,000 t/a liquid LiPF6 and to terminate the construction of 5,000 t/a LiPF6 project (phase II) approved in 2015.

CATL increased its investment to CMOC and became CMOC's second largest shareholder, which will further improve the company's li-ion battery industry chain.

In early Oct., lithium companies reported positive results in Q3 2022, benefiting from the continued booming of the new energy sector.

Guocheng Mining, Tiannai Technology and Shanghai Jinyuansheng set up two joint ventures, which are engaged in LFP, lithium manganese iron phosphate new cathode materials and li-ion battery cathode material precursor business respectively.

In Sept. 2022, China's installed capacity of power battery was 31.6 GWh, a YoY increase of 101.6% and a MoM increase of 14.0%. From Jan.-Sept. 2022, China's total installed capacity of power battery was 193.7 GWh, a cumulative growth of 110.5% over last year.

The price of cathode materials in Oct. rose and may rise slightly in the short term.

The price of some anode materials has decreased slightly this month, but the overall prices mainly kept stable. The change of price is expected to be small in the short term.
