Highlights

image1

World production of kitchen furniture was worth around US$ 50 billion in the year 2014.

In terms of units, the total market can be estimated in around 23 million kitchens produced, increasing by 2% if compared to the previous year, with a decreasing unit price.

Approximately 1.8 million units of kitchens were exported during the year 2014 and they represent about 8% of total production of kitchens. This share will probably reach 10% within four years (2018).

If we consider the net trade (value of export less value of import), that is usually taken as an indicator of competitiveness, we find three big net exporters: Germany by far the leader, with over US$ 1.9 billion net exports, China, with net exports of about US$ 1.1 billion and Italy with over US$ 0.8 billion net exports.

The kitchen furniture market will reach approximately 26 million units in the year 2018.

An additional market of about US$ 1.3 billion will be available for kitchen furniture exporters, as the value of the international trade of kitchen furniture will jump from US$ 5.5 to US$ 6.8 billion.

A relevant share of this growth will be obtained in China, India, North Africa, Australia, Asia Pacific, Russia, Gulf Countries, United States
