Customers Looking for a Quick Turnaround Time and Compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 Standards Will Drive Demand

Calibration involves testing the accuracy of a measurement instrument by checking it against reference standards. This study analyzes the calibration and repair services market. It classifies service providers into two segments: original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and third-party service providers. The end-user industries include aerospace and defense, consumer electronics and semi-conductors, communications, medical and life sciences, automotive, industrial, and others (educational institutes). This study covers four types of calibration and repair services: electrical/electronics, mechanical, thermodynamic/temperature, and physical/dimensional.

Different industries, including aerospace and defense, automotive, and communications, have to maintain accuracy in their measurement and instrument systems to meet regulatory compliance and ensure quality control, which makes calibration and repair services critical to their success. Some of the standards for calibration and repair services are ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1:1994, and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, traceable to NIST standards. For medical equipment calibration, standards are IEC60601, EN60601, IEC 60601-2-4:2010, IEC 61010-2-101:2018, VDE0751, MDADB9801, and ANSI/AAMI, along with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance.

In addition, some of the key accreditation bodies for calibration and repair services are the Japan Accreditation Board (JAB), the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in India, the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) in the United States, the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) in Australia, and Telarc in New Zealand.

This research includes a discussion of top growth drivers and restraints, revenue forecasts from 2023 to 2029 (by service type, region, and industry vertical), competitive environment analysis, market share analysis, and a snapshot of the top growth opportunities for players looking to advance in this space.
