Worldwide and U.S. IoT Cellular Connections Forecast, 2023-2027

This IDC study analyzes the worldwide and U.S. Internet of Things cellular connections outlook for the 2023-2027 period. In addition to trends in the IoT cellular connections market, the study forecasts global and U.S. business and consumer IoT cellular connections through 2027. The forecast also breaks out 5G IoT connections, along with 2G/3G/4G IoT cellular numbers through the forecast period."IoT cellular connectivity is the most logical connectivity method for many IoT projects," said Sandra Wendelken, senior research analyst, Mobile and IoT Services at IDC. "Organizations across the globe rely on IoT cellular connectivity for their deployments as evidenced by strong growth in business IoT connections, but service providers must ensure their business models are sound to capitalize on projected growth."
