Worldwide Business Use Smartphone Forecast, 2025-2029

This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for the worldwide business use of smartphone shipments by operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months."Business use smartphone shipments have slowed from the previous year, but remain steady," said Bryan Bassett, research manager, IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies program. "Next-gen AI-powered smartphone investment is a priority for enterprises in 2025 and will contribute to device refresh. However, expect those devices to remain deployed for three years or more as device durability and functionality fuel extended refresh cycles."
